Though highly contemporary Bad Woman is an album that takes Pop music back to a time when lyrics where more than esthetic gimmicks. With Céline's music, one cannot avoid to listen to what she has to say. To be honest we've not been struck by lyrics as much as with this record for quite a long time, and it keeps on growing.
Discreet Music (1975) is the fourth studio album by the British musician Brian Eno. marking a clear step toward the ambient aesthetic Eno would later codify with 1978's Ambient 1: Music for Airports. It is also Eno's first album to be released under his full name "Brian Eno" as opposed to his previous rock albums released simply under the name "Eno".
Thoughtstream is a truly delightful album recorded by St. Petersburg-based duo Dices + AEM, spanning some 11 tracks recorded over the duration of 2015 by the Udacha and Gost Zvuk affiliates. Influences from early sequence-based electronics and vintage space rock abound throughout Thoughtstream, paired up with a diverse rhythmic approach that is quite reminiscent of the Aquarian Foundation album that Going Good put out a few years back.
Dutch Wave: A History Of Minimal Synth & Wave In The Netherlands is an important collection of tunes because it includes plenty of material from the early 80s that went on to inspire the current generation of known producers - people like Legowelt and Intergalactic Gary coming to mind.
Hugo van Hejiningen and Identified Patient joined forces to debut their new musical project, Stallion’s Stud. Artificial Dance is ready to release the first fruits of the duo’s studio collaboration. The four-track EP digs deep into their shared love of off-kilter electronics, post-punk era experimentation, DIY music culture and dubbed-out drum machine rhythms.
Beginning with a breezy chunk of Marimba-driven four-to-the-floor bliss, the album sees the Japanese trio - whose members included legendary percussionist and ambient artist Midori Takada - shuffle between hypnotic, Steve Reich-influenced minimalism, melodious fusions of new age electronica and modern American classical, and glacial ambient soundscapes.
This reissue adds 5 bonus tracks recorded during the same period spread across a double LP set. Each copy includes a double sided insert with lyrics, photos and notes by Carolyn. All songs have been remastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios. "Old-soul beat tracks on cassette with time and techno-guilotine songs."
The latest release by Musique Pour La Danse is a reissue of a rare and cult record, Super Nova's Planetary Invazion EP. It is part of a 4 EP reissue series of Nate Krafft's music under several aliases (Super Nova, Naquil). Originally released by Infra in 1996, this is an off-kilter EP that should be filed under techno / electro / Detroit but that also goes beyond these categories.
